let’s be friends with china
well well well, whaddya know, one of our new DPM’s earliest… duty?… duty was to enhance malaysia-china ties, a tie he said goes back to his late father, our 3rd PM, tun abdul razak. yes the late tun abdul razak was the one who was instrumental in establishing ties with china. if i remember correctly he made a lot of visits to china to establish the good ties with china, and if i remember correctly again, after his many trips to china, some people in the govt. were not too happy. why, i leave it to your imagination.
najib said that malaysia and china are “very much in tandem” with one another since malaysia had never viewed china as a threat to the region, and that they had always regarded china as a friendly country.
not a threat? well wait till one day when china take over the US of A as the mighty super-power of the world. heh.
najib also said that his calling on enhancing ties with china is not due to personal reason (re: his late father) but because china figures prominently in our PM, pak lah’s foreign policy.
it seems that there are plans for pak lah visit china to celebrate the 30th anniversary of malaysia’s diplomatic relations with china as well as to mark the date when tun razak visited china in 1974.
hmm… i wonder why now suddenly the interest in china. something to do with the election? and speaking of election, have you heard, our ex PM opened his mouth again and urged the chinese community in our country to support and vote for BN. it’s like an old record being played again when he yakkity yak on how we chinese in malaysia were better off than other chinese in other parts of the world, where we were so lucky in malaysia, that we are allowed to follow our tradition and culture without hindrance, ciiting examples of the tea ceremony and lion dance, and also chinese schools supported by the govt.
hmm… are we chinese so lucky? we should vote the BN to get more lucky? well i’m not born yesterday. i will vote the BN if they do away with NEP and malay’s priveleges (oops. hope someone won’t go and swing a kris saying they have a right to defend malay’s priveleges even.. if the kris has to……..)
