open house = religious freedom

the heading alone at the bernama site, ‘national open houses prove wrong claims of no religious freedom’ makes me laugh… AND makes me kind of feel embarrased that we can have a minister who has such a pea brain to think thus.

this pea brain minister is datuk paduka abdul kadir, minister of culture, arts and
tourism
, who was responding to the US 5th international report on religious freedom.

i had blogged on something related to this issue here, as regards to the PM’s response that malaysia is a muslim-led country.

coming back to that bernama article, do you know the datuk paduka had labeled those people who came up with the international report on religious freedom as fools, stupid, dumb. hmm… i wonder who is the real stupid dumb fool here, who is the one who can equate national celebration and open houses as religious freedom.

in another article of bernama, datuk paduka abdul kadir stated that malaysians support national celebrations. i wonder how he comes to that conclusion? was there a survey done? even so, yes, let’s say malaysians do support the national celebration, but do you think they will nod their heads at abdul kadir to say having national celebration show there is religious freedom? why i bet most of them support national celebration because of the free good food. 🙂

i haven’t attended a national open house before but i had attended state open house and they sure gave good food…. chinese food, indian food, malay food… you can have your choice. if the state can offer such good food, what more at national level.

ah but i digress. see what the mention of food do to me. 🙂

ok coming back to topic, this abdul kadir said that the coming christmas open house on saturday will be telecast live and they are going to invite 200 media and tour agency representatives from all over the world for the event…. to show that malaysia practise religious freedom. ha! and when asked if he is going to invite reps. from the dept. which released the int. religious freedom report, he said no point doing that and label them as fools who bad mouth our country.

hmm… are they fools? where to many of us, their findings does not speaks the truth?
