work for the religion, race and nation
“work with me, not for me… but for the religion, race and nation.”
so said our new PM when he started work in his new office yesterday.
religion? race? which race and religion he meant?
as he is a muslim and a malay, i’m sure people would assume he meant ” work for islam and malays”.
let’s look at that going-to-be infamous phrase in another way:
“do not work for me”
“work with me”
“work for the religion, race and nation”
nation? ya we all know the nation is malaysia of course.
religion? race? none other than the ‘official’ religion and race of the nation? islam and malay?
if so how can a PM uttered such a phrase?
maybe i’m a little stupid to understand this phrase of his, so care to enlighten me anyone?
