NKVE rockfall and PORR
well now it seems that this news on the rockfall at KM21.8 along the new klang valley expressway (NKVE) near bukit lanjan on wednesday, 26 nov. seems to be a hot topic in all the mainstream media and of course among bloggers too.

the rockfall at bukit lanjan, NKVE
it seems that this NKVE rockfall incident provide an opportunity for ms linda lim, the co-coordinator of the central ad hoc action committee against PORR (penang outter ring road), to make a statement that PORR alignment may cause rockfall disasters.

give them guns?
to seriously tackle the ‘tonto’ menace, JPJ’’s director general, datuk emran kadir wants his men to be armed with firearms. he justified the needs for firearms on the fact that hooligans are getting bolder each day and there had been incidents in which JPJ officers had been attacked.
this reminds me another department that had been toying with the idea of arming their officers with firearms - the MPPJ. this came about especially during their raid of illegal VCD sellers. tontos too existed among illegal VCD sellers of course. and there were cases of the MPPJ officers being assaulted by tontos.

artcle by anil netto
here is an excellent article by a friend of mine, anil netto (a church friend, like martin jalleh, but i do not know him as well as i know martin). anil writes for the asia times and is also a member of aliran.
in this article by anil dated 24th nov. and entitled abdullah badawi: malaysia’s tinker man, anil liken our new PM, pak lah to a ‘home handyman tinkering around the house making adjustments and minor repairs’.,
the article gave us an insight into what had pak lah been ‘tinkering’ on so far, for about a month now from the time he assumed the post of PM. go and read the article, then come back with your comments.

society that helps the poor
in pak lah’s hari raya speech, he commanded groups which help the needy.
this is a cue for me to talk about the society (church based) i’m involved in which helps the poor and needy.
if you look at the sidebar, under ‘alternatives and ngo’ you’ll notice SSVP at the bottom. well SSVP stands for ’society of st vincent de paul’. you can read about SSVP in its website but sorry to say that the website is not updated. you’ll notice my name there under ‘national council’ but no, i’m no longer in national council. and don’t be surprise at the ’sis’ tag, thinking i’m a sister (nun!). oh no i’m not. in our society, we call everybody ‘brother’ and ’sister’.

accidents during festive occasions
why is it that each time there is a balik kampung exodus during a festive occasion, accidents tend to be on the increase? up-to-date the news reported that there had been 48 people killed in road accidents in the past three days. and this figure is only for now - before hari raya. what about after hari raya, when people are returning from their raya holiday? will the numbers be increased again?
there seems to be a conflicting of report in malaysiakini and NST. malaysiakini stated there were 48 deaths from more than 800 accidents, while NST stated these 48 deaths came from over 2,000 accidents! me feel NST is more correct. NST also had highlighted where most of these accidents occurred.

michael jackson

is he guilty of child molestation?
i guess most of you would not be interested to talk/discuss about this weirdo singer, also known as ‘wacko jacko’. however, i would like to talk about him now… or to be more specific on the molestation charges brought on him.
i’m not particularly a fan of michael jackson (MJ in short) but i do enjoy listening to his songs. even during the time when MJ was a child, joining his brothers in the group ‘the jackson five’, i love some of his songs he sang then e.g. ben, never can say goodbye, i’ll be there. the last song ‘i’ll be there’ i love it very much and it seems to be an evergreen song for me.

complaints on government agencies
public complaints bureau director, datuk mahadi arshad said that the bulk of complaints received by his bureau. relate to delay in rendering services and inaction by government servants. and he added that to date, the bureau had received 2,773 complaints so far and over 50% of these complaints were made because of those two reasons (delay and inaction).
and do you know which department top the list of complaints? none other than the home ministry! ahh, right the home ministry… where the deputy hole ministry chor (no typo… hole, you see because he has a hole in his head) insisted on banning books on ghosts and supernatural. next on line are the prime minister’s department, finance ministry and the energy, communications and multimedia ministry.
