chopstick and mouse

have you heard that using chopsticks can be harmful? it may cause the disease known as osteoarthritis. this study was done by the boston university school of medicine. though the report stated that:

“The repetitive movement of pinching the chopsticks together to pick up food can cause joint problems in the fingers and hand”

and it end with:

“What causes the disease is not known, although doctors suspect that repeated overuse of particular joints may be to blame.”

now i’m wondering… ‘overuse of particular joints’… when holding the mouse to move and click, aren’t we using the same one particular joints too? so will computer users who uses the mouse a lot like me, suffer from osteoarthritis too?

actually even now, many a times, i feel some aches on my right wrist where i hold the mouse. most of the time i have to hold the mouse to the right, because i need to use keyboard at times. and when i stretch my hands to the right, clasping the mouse, after a long time, i do feel the strain. it’s like when one use the keyboard too much, one will suffer from carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS)… and this operating the mouse too long will it be CTS or osteoarthritis?

what suggestion do you have to avoid strain whether CTS of osteoarthritis or osteorheumatism or plain ache, when using mouse?
