dear lucia,

"if only people will be brave enough to vote opposition"
agree with you that most chinese voters in Penang dont have the guts to vote for oppositions as what they did in 1969 (then the May 13 incident happened)

I still think Penang can do much better but the politicians there seems very happy with what they planned for the state eg. 2nd Penang bridge - which they want to get loan from China to build it (looks like a political move by BN to earn more votes in the coming election)

"as this sound rather arrogant" - i think the Malaysian voters should be the boss, as they got a choice to elect the government. Of course, very sadly, this seldom happened in msia

orangmsia
well frankly no i don't think the opposition can win but as to denying BN the 2/3 majority, maybe there is a slim chance... just maybe if only people will be brave enough to vote opposition.

well first of all it is not only penang is in a sorry state. other places (incl. part of KL) are too.
secondly not all penangites voted for BN and remember how BN works ok... some dirty tricks here and there.
thirdly are you so sure of "such things is not allowed in KL. we'll make sure BN lose i they don't develop the place properly" - as this sound rather arrogant. there are places in KL (or other places) not develop properly but under BN e.g. ijok before the by-election. no proper development there but it was only during the by-election that development was promised here and there.

Dear Lucia,
Do you think opposition eg. DAP, Keadilan, PAS etc got a chance to win or even deny BN 2/3 majority in the coming Penang state election? I'm from KL and I visit Penang state almost yearly. I could see part of the Island is in sorry condition. I had difficulty to figure out why penangites still gave BN a chance to win big in the previous election. Maybe they are really happy with what BN gave them so far in Penang state. Such thing is not allowed in KL. We'll make sure BN lose if they dont develop the place properly

rauff
ah but BN also started with no experience. everybody started with no experience! also, if you don't give chance to the opposition, how will they get the experience? it's like a fresh graduate applying for job. everywhere he goes, people don't want to employ him because he has no experience... but of course, that was because the people don't want to give him a chance to prove himself. they must take the risk to let him prove himself, only then he will gain the experience. he does not has the experience but he has the qualification.

likewise the opposition, they may not have experience but being in the opposition, they are 'qualified' to run the country if given a chance. whether they will do a good job of it, is a risk we have to take.

bobby
i sense that too. just like the time when they like to say muslim should not watch the 'jesus' movie or should not attend a christian exhibition, it was an insult to muslim themselves. shame, shame!

maverick
yep they will have to thrash it out... and while they are at it, bloggers like me have something to write about.
