When a tiger is about to eat you why make a fuss over a domesticated cat?

you are a diehard christian. I am also a christian but I would read and try to understand. It is profound knowledge from research. It won't change my belief in God. It will help me understand my religion better.

lucia: yes of course it is profound knowledge. a professor or scientist, doing research or study - all these has to be profound knowledge. i don't mind reading it too... but if i don't believe it, how can i understand it, understand the study i mean? but of course OTOH it help me to understand MY OWN religion better.

yourgod forgets that ultimately the judgement of any religion will be made thus:

1. The tree is known by his fruit - by way of mass effects and collective actions of the adherents historically.

2. Within the confine of Monotheism, one might say that the only way we humans can experience God is through love. A religion is true to the extent that it teaches love and is false to the extent that it instills hate.

3. Brainwashing notwithstanding a religion has to be a Persuasion in that its doctrines must allow anyone whose hearts no longer believes in it to leave freely. Failing which it is as good only as any cult.

Try not to compare oranges with apples. Even Buddhist teachings have its faults wrt close examination but there is this written Charter of Universal Intellectual Freedom provided by way of its Kalama Sutra.

Being an atheist is easy but everything don't begin and end there. The urge and inner calling will still nag in oneself to understand the Nature of Reality. Understandably what men has commited in the name of religion stinks. Man is often stricken by foibles and ignorance, inside and outside of religion.

I do make jokes and jibes even at any Persuasions but only when it is grossly distorted in spirit imo. When I look at the Ten Commandments closely, I find some 7 good and universal injuctions and 3 lousy ones.

So do we throw the baby out with the bath water and find bliss from that? the thrust of Darwinism did just that but now his missing link theory wears more and more thin. His amoral Theory only promoted hoplesness and Nihilism.

Often it's simply not the simple atheists' hand at it in the US but that of the Marxist leftist clones out to discredit the Judeo-Christian ethos as a means by way of weakening the government of the day as well. Insidious and not always apparent.

of course it could've been ice, but, you know, the bible would've said 'ice' had it - really - been ice. such pretentious desperation these people have at refuting the bible that they fail to see simple fallacies in their arguments.

and naivE's rather naive. ha-ha. :D

lucia: agree about the naivE and naive part. ;)Â

There's so many people it's not really surprising to find a skeptic who thinks he can find a scientific answer to everything. Anyways, his suggestions doesn't seem to be plausible too, in my opinion.

Btw Lucia, very nice blog design! :D

lucia: thanks andy. i picked this design after hours of studying all the other designs.

it's true what you said that there are so many people out there so of course there's bound to be some skeptics. oh... and also this reminds me, there's so many people out on the net too and there's bound to be a troll coming in your blog one day... i think one had enter my blog. (no, not you). :)Â

Aiyoh, who cares...the bible/torah/quran/(insert all other religious books) are just books.

They are all fictions.

lucia: i care... because i'm a die-hard christian and the bible is the word of god to me, not fiction.Â

He's from the Global Warming genre, mah. The "type B scientist" who tells you what you actually experience. See a Yeti or a n UFO and they'll tell you what you saw! Not what you actually saw. Junk science impresses dumb reporters. Beware of post modern professors naturally.

Miracles of course are possible but by themselves are not necessarily drectly equated with holy spiritual attainment. Supernormal powers are cultivateable in tandem with the person mind's cultivation on the way to enlightenment but such powers can also be corrupting to the person who gains them. Many such phenomena as walking through rock or flying in the air etc etc etc are mentioned in the books on Buddhist meditation too. Many of these however are temporary alteration of the physical reality in which we are bound.

Type B scientists and post modern professors are uncomfortable with any other ideas that threatens their warm seats and present status. Human nature. That which they cannot explain, they try to dismiss by denigrating by all means. The way to make a name.

lucia: oic. there is such a person as 'type B scientists? didn't know what. what an eye opener your commentse here! :)
